Longview Turkey Trot • Event Details

Join us this Thanksgiving at the Longview Turkey Trot 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk. Register & join one of the fastest-growing holiday traditions in East Texas. Be sure to bring the entire family, as there will be races for everyone. The event offers a costume contest, a team competition, and finisher medals for all participants. Free photos, medals, shirts, and live results to all registered participants.

Your gift during registration can provide a full Thanksgiving meal to a local family in need. Your support helps ensure no family goes without during this special time of year.

Packet Pick Up Dates & Times:

Time: 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Time: 6:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

Location: Downtown by start/finish near 5th and Harvey (signs will be posted)

Expo & Packet Pick Up

Beat the race day rush and pick up your materials in advance of the race! All registered participants will receive a bib and t-shirt. If you can't make it before race day, you're welcome to send a friend or family member to pick up your race day necessities – as long as they come with a copy of everyone's ID or QR code (picture on your phone is acceptable/recommended). Or, you can pick up your items on race day! Just be prepared for long wait lines on event morning.

We HIGHLY recommend picking up your packets on Wednesday, November 25th for the best race day experience!

*Arrive early to ensure you make your start time. We will not be able to accommodate late starters.

The Longview Turkey Trot is for everyone—from first-time trotters to seasoned pros! Age group awards are based on 5K results.

🏁 5K Awards
Overall male & female.
Overall masters male & female (over 40 years of age).
Overall grand-masters male & female (over 50 years of age).
Top finisher in each age group for male & female will be categorized as below:
10 and under, 10–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, and 80 and over.

Where and when does the race start?

The race starts at 1016 McCann Rd, Longview, TX 75601. The 1 Mile begins at 8:30am and the 5K begins at 9:00am on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

What are the age group awards?

5K: Overall male & female, Masters (40+), Grand-Masters (50+), and top finisher per age group: 10 & under, 10–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, and 80+.
1 Mile: Top 3 male & female in each age category.
If you can't stay for the awards ceremony, awards will be mailed on request — email info@sunbeltrunning.com

What's included in my registration?

All paid participants will receive an entry to the distance of their choice, a custom t-shirt, a finisher medal, bib number with chip timing, and free race photos.

Can I walk?

Absolutely! Walkers are welcome at both the 5K and 1 Mile. We just ask that walkers line up toward the back of the start corral.

Can I run with a stroller?

Yes! We ask that strollers start toward the back of the pack. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Can I run with a dog?

We ask that you leave your four-legged friends at home for this one!

Will there be a Team Competition?

Yes! We award the largest team and the team raising the most donations. See the Awards tab for full details.

How do I get my shirt and medal?

Pick up your bib and shirt at packet pickup on Wednesday, November 25th or on race morning. See the Expo & Packet Pick-Up tab for full details. We highly recommend picking up on Wednesday to avoid race morning lines!

Can my friend or family member pick up my bib?

Yes! They just need to bring a picture of your ID (a photo on their phone is fine).

Can I transfer my registration to another person or defer to a future event?

Transfers – Participant to Participant: Available on the Race Roster registration page. Select the "Transfer" button and follow the prompts. A $15 transfer fee applies. The transfer window closes 72 hours before the event.
Transfers – Changing Distance: Also available via the "Transfer" button on Race Roster. No refunds for price differences between distances. Closes 72 hours before the event.
Deferrals: A one-time deferral to the following year's event is available. Requests must be made at least one week before the event. A $15 deferral fee applies. Email info@sunbeltrunning.com to request.
